Design and Technology: Literacy
Our View on Literacy in Design and Technology
At Hartismere, we are dedicated to fostering a love of reading across all subjects, including Design and Technology. We believe that literacy is a cornerstone of academic success and personal growth. By promoting reading, we help pupils enhance their comprehension, critical thinking, and creativity, which are vital skills in Design and Technology.
We recognise that some pupils may need additional support, guidance, and encouragement with their reading. To address this, we have implemented several exciting initiatives: Reading in Form Times, Library Lessons, Read a Book Week and many more.
We strongly believe that reading has the power to shape pupils' futures, aid their progress across the curriculum, and allow them to express themselves wherever life takes them.
