Programming software
High School
We code using python in years 7 to 11.
If you want to install a python programming environment, we recommend Thonny as it is lightweight (does not use much space or memory on your computer).
If you just want to test small bits of code, you could use the Hartismere Python IDE (but you cannot save code here)
Alternatively, Replit is an online programming environment that allows you to code in your choice of languages (requires sign up)
Sixth form
In sixth form we program using C#.
If you want a lightweight IDE (and what we use in school), Sharp Develop is useful
The best is probably Visual Studio Community as would be the environment that most tutorials online would use
